C. Module 2
DETAILS OF A WEB PAGE
Just like a book has 'Features of Text' (i.e. titles, headings, index, diagram, table of contents, font color and size, etc.) a web page has specific features to help you know how to navigate through it and find information quickly in order to allow you to evaluate the site to see if the information found on the site is what you need.

USING THE DETAILS OF A WEB PAGE
Detail- “How much information do I need?” is a valuable question to ask early in the research process. The answer should help you determine where to look for information and when you can stop looking. Check the information source for detail. Does the information source offer you the depth of coverage you need for your assignment?
Once accessing a web site use these details of a web page to help you determine if the information needed can be found on the page.
- Internal Search Engine or Control F (creates a find box)
- Site Map (found at the bottom of the page)
- Page organization: Title, headings, and Subtitles
- External Links
- Interactive, Graphic Elements
- Design Appeal (http://www.angelfire.com/super/badwebs/) Example of bad design
LESSON OBJECTIVE
